Bob and Joan are amazing! It was like staying at my aunt and uncles, they make it feel like home. You must listen to their advice and heed to it, as bob said “I have nothing to gain from giving bad advice, I’m only trying to help.” As with most travel in SA cities, in my opinion, the hostel location is not as important as security… If you want to get around hire a car since it’s really the only way to effectively get in and around Joburg.
Bob and his family are wonderful people. Polite, understanding and helpful. The hostel’s very clean and neat, informative and tranquil. Had a very good time there the best I’ve been to in Johannesburg greater area.
